What is a Partial Denture?

A partial denture is a removable dental appliance that replaces your missing teeth and surrounding tissue. It's used when some natural teeth remain.

It not only fills in the spaces created by your missing teeth, but it prevents other teeth from shifting.

It's made to closely resemble your natural teeth and may even enhance your smile.

A denture is a very durable appliance and will last many years, but may have to be readjusted, repaired, or replaced due to normal wear.

What does it involve?

The process of getting a denture requires several appointments, usually over several weeks.

Your Visits

At your first visit, Dr. Ochev takes highly accurate impressions (molds) and measurements that will used to create your custom denture. Several “try-in” visits may be necessary to ensure proper shape, color, and fit. At your final visit, he'll precisely adjust and place the completed denture, ensuring a natural and comfortable fit.

What to Expect After

It’s normal to experience increased saliva flow, some soreness, and possible speech and chewing difficulty; however, this will subside as your muscles and tissues get used to the new denture.

Caring for Your New Denture

You’ll receive care instructions at the end of your treatment. Proper cleaning of your new dental appliance, good oral hygiene, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new denture.
