What is Invisalign^®?

The Invisalign teeth straightening system is an alternative to metal braces.

The treatment consists of a series of clear aligners that you switch out about every two weeks. Each aligner is individually manufactured with exact calculations to gradually shift your teeth into place. And since these aligners are custom-made for your teeth and your teeth only, with a plan devised by you and Dr. Ochev, you know you'll end up with a smile that truly fits.

Customized: Dr. Ochev will take precise impressions and customize your aligners for your teeth.

Effective: Even before your treatment is finished, your teeth alignment will improve and you’ll begin enjoying the benefits of a better smile.

Clarity: Your aligners are virtually invisible so hardly anyone will even know you’re straightening your teeth. They’re unobtrusive in business meetings or social gatherings.

Comfort: Your aligners are comfortable to wear; there are no metal wires or bands and the edges are smooth so they won’t irritate your gums or cheeks.

Removable: You can remove your aligners so you can eat, drink, brush, and floss as usual, or attend special occasions.

What does it involve?

Dr. Ochev is an Invisalign^® certified dentist. We offer an initial consultation free of charge, to determine if Invisalign^® is right for you. During your visit, you’ll discuss the issues you have with your teeth and what kind of results you’d like to see. If he decides your situation is suitable for Invisalign^®, you can get started right away.

Step 1: Once Dr. Ochev decides your situation is suitable for Invisalign^®, he will map out a treatment plan with your goals in mind. Then, he'll take impressions and pictures of your teeth for digitization purposes.

Step 2: Soon, Dr. Ochev will use the state-of-the-art, iTero^® intraoral scanner to capture a 3D model of your teeth and gums. It's more comfortable for you than the traditional use of putty-filled impression trays because there's no mess, unpleasant taste or smell, and you can breathe and swallow as you normally would. Watch the video. Then, he'll plan your tooth movements throughout your entire treatment timeline. You'll be able to see a virtual representation of your teeth before, during, and after completion of the Invisalign process so you can see what your smile should look like when you're done with treatment.

Step 3: From Dr. Ochev's precise treatment plan, customized aligners are created with advanced technology for you to wear at each stage of your treatment. While the number of aligners varies for each individual situation, a full set of treatment typically includes 20-30 aligners per arch.

Step 4: You should wear your aligners at all times, with the exception of eating and drinking, in order to complete your treatment in the timeline determined by you and Dr. Ochev. You'll go in for occasional checkups, to monitor your progress and to receive your next set of aligners. During the entire treatment process, you'll be able to watch your teeth gradually moving into place. Your smile will, little by little, move into something you'd like to show off. The people around you will be sure to notice your new-found confidence.
